Zoop is a 1995 SNES color-matching puzzler in which geometric blocks advance from four sides toward a central cursor. Collectors seek it for its brisk, minimalist design and its rarity in complete condition.
Players rotate a cursor to match incoming shapes by color; three or more aligned blocks vanish, buying time before the grid fills. Levels increase speed and introduce new hues, rewarding quick pattern recognition over long-term planning.
Developed by Hookstone and published by Viacom New Media, Zoop arrived during the brief 16-bit puzzle boom. Its restrained visuals and chiptune soundtrack were deliberate choices to keep the action readable at high speeds.
Contemporary reviews praised the pick-up-and-play clarity but noted its limited depth compared with Tetris or Dr. Mario. Today the title’s modest print run and plain label make near-mint copies uncommon finds for SNES completists.
