Tracking a GameCube collection
2026-09-09
GameCube collecting has a particular smell: tiny discs, brittle cases, and a console that still looks like a lunchbox. If you are trying to track the set without a mess of notes apps, start with one inventory that can hold games, the system, and the paperwork together.
That is what RetroStronghold is for. Free logging for discs and hardware. Live loose, CIB, and sealed prices on the copies you own. The Index already has titles other collectors have logged, which helps when you are staring at a spine and guessing the exact release.
Condition on cube discs
Cubed discs scratch if you look at them wrong. “Loose” usually means disc only. CIB means case, art, manual, and disc that belong together. Sealed is its own world and should not share a row with a battered player’s copy. Mark what you actually have so the price on the row is honest.
Player’s Choice and variants
Same game, different sticker, sometimes a different number. When the Index has the variant, pick that row instead of stuffing a note in the title field. Your future self will thank you when you sort by value.
Do not forget the brick
Consoles, controllers, and official manuals belong in the same shelf view as the games. A GameCube without cables is still a thing you own. See also consoles, games, and manuals in one inventory.
